What is new on 5.1 ?
New recipe for the steel
Modified steel hammer loot probability in dungeon/mineshaft chest: 23% (old was 30%)
Modified textures and names for all runes (now gems)
Temporary removed emerald hammer and gem
Bug fixes:
- obsidian hammer config doesn't work so the hammer can't be disabled
- When you used a hammer on a non-minable block with a pickaxe, it broke the minable blocks around it
- Missing french translations

Only in 5.0 in 1.21.1: The workbench recipes can't be consulted using jei (this will be fix in a little patch soon). So you can see hammer recipes in the help book.

The mod is obselete for minecraft 1.19.4, 1.20.4 and 1.20.6. It will no longer be updated to these versions.

Steel ingots
Theses ingots are indispensable, they are the basis of the mod.
They are used in recipes to make hammers.
Use an iron ingot in a furnace to turn it into an steel ingot
Use 2 iron ingots in a crafting table to make steel sticks.
You can also use nuggets to make steel but it's not the easiest.
Steel sticks
Made with 2 steel ingots in the crafting table thay are used to craft all the hammers of the mod.
Steel fragments
Steel fragments have a 10% chance of being obtained by crafting hammers in the workbench.
They're used in the repair ring recipe.
Repair ring
Made with 4 steel fragments. These rings are very useful for repairing special hammers in an anvil.
Help book
Just a simple book that can help you to find runes. You can also foind details on some items.
You'll get one by starting a new world if you're in survival or in adventure mod.
This book have a recipe.
(1.21.1+ : you'll have hammer recipes inside.)
Hammer workbench
The hammer workbench is a special crafting table which has a 5x5 crafting grid.
You can craft this workbench with 2 crafting tables and 2 steel ingots.
The hamer workbench is necessary to craft simple hammers.
Once you've placed items in correct slots according to recipes, click on the button to craft the hammer.
When you do this, you have a 10% chance of obtaining a steel fragment.
Basic gems (Reinforcement and Upgrade gems)
Those gems can be added with hammers in smithing table to upgrade them. It's means that you can imrpove the durability or the mining area of an hammer by upgrading it with runes.
Use a gem in a smithing table or an anvil (depends wich version of minecraft you use) with an hammer to upgrade it.
Reinforcement gems can be added to an hammer to improve the durability.

Upgdrade gems can be added to an hammer to extend the mining area to 5x5.

There is an upgraded and reinforced version for all hammers.
You can't upgrade an hammer with the 2 gems !
You have a 38% chance of obtaining reinforcement gems in plains villages loot.
You have a 11% chance of obtaining updgrade gems in stronghold loots.
You have a 7% chance of obtaining updgrade gems in end city loots.
Magma gems
Magma gems can be added to a diamond hammer to craft the magma hammer.
1.20.41+(anvil)
The magma gem can be found in nether fortress loots (you have a 17% chance).
Amethyst gems
Amethyst gems can be added to a diamond hammer to craft the amethyst hammer.
When you break budding amethyst, you have a 10% chance to recover an amethyst gem.
Obsidian gems
Obsidian gems can be added to a diamond hammer to craft the Obsidian hammer.
Endermites have a 50% probability of dropping an obsidian gem when you kill them.
Hammers
Hammers are used to mine in a 3x3 area in front, under and below you
The durability of the hammer depends of wich material and if it's reinforced.
The mining area depends if it's upgraded
You can reinforce or upgrade hammers by using Runes.
Hammers are crafted in the hammer workbench (except the netherite one)

Special hammers
Special Hammers are unique hammers with unique features. They can't be enchanted with any enchantement. They are crafted with their respective gems (except for the steel hammer).
Each hammer has its own advantages and disadvantages, it just depends on the hammer you choose.
They only can be repaired with the repair ring.
SPECIAL HAMMER ABILITIES CAN BE DISABLED IN THE MOD CONFIG (configured mod is mandatory).

Made with 1 diamond hammer and 1 magma gem in an anvil.
STATS:
Efficiency: 6
Durability: 375
Area: 3x3
Features: Auto smelt when mining
Disadvantages: 10% risk being burned during 5 sec
*for 1.19.4 you have to do this craft in a smithing table and not in an anvil
